UK: New marina for Isle of Wight
Cowes Harbour Commission (CHC) has announced plans for a new 135-berth marina in East Cowes, Isle of Wight. CHC CEO, Gary Hall, said the proposal sits within “wider economic regeneration plans”.
According to a report in onthewight.com, the plans have been reviewed favourably by local businesses and key stakeholders around the wider Cowes Harbour. The marina will be accessed via an esplanade that is due to be developed by Isle of Wight Council.
Karl Love, ward councillor for East Cowes, said: “East Cowes is an important redevelopment area for our entire island attracting significant public and private investment which is vital to our long-term prosperity. I welcome inspirational, sustainable and environmentally friendly developments such as this for our community.”
