CURACAO: Permits for marina developments

On 12 May, the Government of Curacao issued permits to Royal Holding Company II BV for the development of a marina in the Zakito area of the Dutch Caribbean island. The company will be able to construct a breakwater and a movable bridge in accordance with Curacao’s maritime management legislation and construction and housing regulations.

Mr Gilmar Pisas, interim Minister of Health, Environment & Nature, also granted an exemption in accordance with the local regulations regarding reef management for the construction. The initial phase of the project will involve an investment of $12.5 million.

The government also closed a preference agreement with Silver Reef Resort BV for the potential development of a marina in the Piscadera area on the same day.
