Marina completes waterfront regeneration
UK: The new marina at Dover, a crucial element of the town’s plan to revitalise its waterfront, opened in April. Surrounded by the Marina Curve – a large outdoor entertainment space completed in 2021 – it is ideally positioned to attract locals and visitors.
Around 50 permanent berth holders are already on site and more will move over during the first half of this year. A total of 160 yachts and small leisure boats can be accommodated.Highlights for berth holders include access to a dedicated fuel dock, hardstand and boatyard, and a new marina office. All elements have been designed to suit a sustainable mixed-use scheme.
Doug Bannister, chief executive of the Port of Dover, commented: “The port is transforming, and the marina opening is the perfect showcase of our new modern look and identity. My thanks go to the marina and Dover Western Docks Revival teams for working so hard to provide this world-leading facility for our berth holders.”
“It’s also a fantastic new attraction for Dover and being perfectly situated next to our cruise terminals, brings communities together from across the nation and globally. We face a bright future, and I am confident that the waterfront will soon become one of the best destinations for exploring the south east coast.”
