USA: Ex-test site to become new Stuart marina
The old Evinrude Motors testing site in Stuart, Florida – 8 acres (3.2ha) of land on the north side of the Old Roosevelt Bridge – is to be redeveloped into a marina that opens up the previously closed, high security waterfront plot to the city.
To be named Atlantic Point Marina, the facility will include 105 wet slips for boats up to 160ft (49m) and a drystack for 465 boats up to 50ft (15m) in length. A restaurant and bar, office building with dockmaster’s office, ships store, offices, a VIP lounge, fitness centre and pool are also planned.
The marina, which is being built by Stratcon Marine Development for Middle Island Management Co, will have views of the Intracoastal Waterway and the city of Stuart. Docks will be installed for water taxis.
