Customised forklift for Saxon Wharf

MDL Marinas has invested over £350,000 in a new Wiggins Marina Bull forklift for its Saxon Wharf facility in Southampton, UK. The machine is proving invaluable for continuous drystack operation.

“We’re delighted with the new forklift, which was put to use straight away with the boating season in full swing,” said Saxon Wharf manager, Dave Walters. “Wiggins Marina Bull forklifts are the best in the business, and we’ve been able to customise our forklift to meet our specific needs and requirements to ensure we can offer our drystack customers the best service possible.”
Situated on Southampton’s Itchen River, Saxon Wharf’s extensive drystack facility offers secure berthing and on-demand launch and lift for boats up to 13m (42ft 8in). Its location close to Southampton Water and the Solent offers an almost endless supply of cruising destinations. MDL’s ‘Dry Stack plus Otium’ berthing package gives unlimited launching on demand – seven days a week, 365 days a year – as well as up to 15% back on fuel in points to spend on other MDL services or with Otium Rewards partners.
In addition, berth holders will soon be able to book a drystack launch/lift out online via the MyMDL customer portal and can also call the marina office for on-the-day bookings.
