AUSTRALIA: Phase three completes at Port Coogee

The third stage of a $5.84 million four-stage plan to expand Port Coogee Marina, owned and managed by the City of Cockburn, WA, has been completed. Work took place at the south and western side of Maraboo Island.

The project included construction of 69 berths for boats of 8 to 25m (26 to 82ft), spread across three new Bellingham Marine concrete floating pontoons; a 90m (295ft) long timber boardwalk and concrete loading berth area; two gatehouses for the new floating jetties; and reconfiguration of car parking. The new waterfront boardwalk has public access and adds to the existing waterside boardwalk and walkways in Port Coogee.

The third stage followed the addition of 158 berths in 2012 (stages one and two). Stage four will be progressively built to provide approximately 250 berths to the south of the existing pontoons.
