THE MEDIA VOICE OF THE GLOBAL MARINA INDUSTRY

Charging options on both sides of the Channel

Marinas on opposite sides of the Channel crossing have installed marine fast-charge stations from Aqua superPower in a bid to encourage electric boating.

Saint-Quay Port d’Armor (right) in the Bay of Saint-Brieuc in northern Brittany officially switched its Aqua 75 station on in early July to coincide with the departure of the prestigious Tour de Bretagne ŕ la Voile and Tour Voile sailing regatta. By becoming the first harbour on the French Brittany coast to offer electric charging, the marina aims to lead by example in terms of environmentally responsible marina management.
Across the water a little later in the month, Cowes Harbour Commission on the Isle of Wight, UK made headlines by inaugurating three fast-charge stations; two on Trinity Landing and another at Shepards Marina. Cowes is renowned globally as a yachting hub and the Commission is embracing electric boating as part of its carbon management plan.
